Make a Wish

Upon exploring Rome, it's almost impossible to not notice all the fountains around the city. From the famous Fontana di Trevi to any small unknown fountain in a piazza in the neighborhood, Rome integrates the sounds of flowing water and the art of marble to its back drop.

Stroll through fountains in piazzas at night with some gelato is easily one of my favorite night activities. Inheriting the ancient tradition, fountains and piazzas are still the place to gather. Part of the day-to-day life, you would see young couples enjoying each others' company and groups of friends chattering away at bars with outdoor seating.

To me, those fountain statues are almost an oxymoron. While the sculpture stands tall and firm; the water flows endlessly. As the same experience I raised in my last post, Fontana di Trevi and Piazza Navona, being two of the most famous fountains in the city, are absolutely worthy of seeing both during the day and at night. Especially after night falls, try to find a spot for yourself by the fountain. Soak in the city noise and find some inner peace. Toss a coin and make a wish.
