Colors of New England

One of the perks of living in New England is its gorgeous and distinct 4 seasons. Although winter is usually longer than everyone desires, between being sun-kissed on the beach and buried in white snow, fall in New England is relaxing, colorful and whimsical. A few hours drive to the Berkshires, the colors of the season reveal itself.

Standing next to the lake in the Beartown state park, the water is still as a mirror, reflecting its surrounding. There is an easy trekking route around the lake, that will take a bit over an hour to complete. The afternoon was quiet, few trekkers like us and a handful of kayaks on the lake.

As opposed to foliage at its peak, when the leaves are still a mixture of green, yellow and red, it resembles the liveliness of the nature, contrasting with the still surrounding.

The leaves turn color generally between middle of October to maybe Thanksgiving, with variation throughout 4 states, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts. Requiring specific weather, timing of temperature and ecosystem, leaf peeping makes me appreciate the nature and feel connected with where I live. Enjoying life for what it has to offer doesn't take far, embrace the beauty right in front of you is an haute way to live too.
